1. Acceptance of terms

By accessing or using Atlas, you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2. Description of Atlas

Atlas is a personal finance visibility tool that helps you review transaction activity imported from connected email accounts and related account features.

Atlas is not:

  • A bank
  • An accounting application
  • A financial adviser
  • An investment adviser
  • A tax adviser
  • A credit provider

3. Eligibility

You may use Atlas only if you can form a binding contract under applicable law and only in compliance with these terms and all applicable laws and regulations.

4. Accounts and security

You are responsible for protecting access to your Atlas account and the devices you use to access the service. Notify us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.

5. Google account integration

Atlas uses Google OAuth for authentication and, where you choose to connect Gmail, authorisation. Gmail permission is read-only. You can disconnect Gmail in Atlas and may revoke access through Google Account settings. Atlas functionality that depends on Gmail may be limited after access is revoked.

6. User responsibilities

You must not:

  • Use Atlas unlawfully
  • Attempt unauthorised access to the service or related systems
  • Upload malicious content
  • Interfere with service operation
  • Use another person’s email account without permission

7. Accuracy of imported data

Email formats vary across institutions and over time. Transactions may be parsed or categorised incorrectly. You are responsible for reviewing financial records shown in Atlas. Atlas should not be treated as the final source for balances, tax filings, accounting, disputes, or financial decisions.

8. Automated categorisation

Categories may be suggested automatically based on rules, transaction similarity, and your history. Suggestions are not guaranteed to be accurate. You can correct categorisation, and corrections may improve future suggestions for your account.

9. Third-party services

Atlas relies on third-party services such as Google, hosting providers, banks, savings platforms, and other providers. Atlas is not responsible for the availability, security, or accuracy of third-party services, products, or content.

10. Intellectual property

Atlas and its branding, software, and content are owned by the operator or its licensors. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service as provided. These terms do not transfer ownership of any intellectual property to you.

11. Availability and service changes

Features may change, and occasional downtime or degraded performance may occur. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue parts of the service with or without notice, subject to applicable law.

12. Termination

You may stop using Atlas and request account deletion at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue the service. Provisions that by nature should survive termination will survive.

13. Disclaimer of warranties

Atlas is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that imported data will be complete or accurate.

14. Limitation of liability

[Limitation of liability wording — review with legal counsel before production. Example intent: to the fullest extent permitted by law, the operator’s aggregate liability arising out of or relating to Atlas is limited to the greater of fees paid by you for the service in the twelve months before the claim or a modest fixed amount, and excludes indirect or consequential damages where allowed.]

15. Indemnity

You agree to defend and indemnify the operator against claims arising from your misuse of Atlas, your violation of these terms, or your use of another person’s account without permission, to the extent permitted by law.

16. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Nigeria, without regard to conflict-of-law principles that would require application of another jurisdiction’s laws, except where mandatory consumer protections apply.

17. Changes to the terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Material changes will be indicated by updating the “Last updated” date on this page and, where appropriate, by additional notice. Continued use after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
